3D

some comps:

New Fire! I think this is better, less distracting than my first attempt;)

I made a 75frames test of a shot, I'm really think to go black and white....

I did this test with a video of a fireplace, but it looks really bad haha... it needs to be more calm...
Now it is way too distracting! (sorry for the dark/bad quality)

Fire!!!!

WIP

I started baking all Ambient Occlusion, it really lowers my rendertimes!

His Neck-Chain,  to make the show more exciting... poor boy! (wip)

Don't have much to post these days because I'm busy with the animatic and dialogue,
I don't know if it's interesting, but here are some examples of how I work with my props:

Father! I only made half of him, as he's on screen for just a little bit.

I had a break and just for fun decided to put my character in my (WIP)scene and pressed render...
colors/lighting etc didn't work out, but I thought I could share it black and white ;)
(I will make the 'real' renders in layers, this was just for fun)

Chained like a dog

First parts of the Set

(carve)Knife

Bird (first pass)

The Set (first pass, no textures or shading yet)

Birthday Cake!
After hearing it looks like poop I added chocolate sprinkles and made the top a little darker,

props for a change!

Photoshopped this from a render... just to experiment...
btw, furst tests with his creases etc were done with normalmaps, this is with displacement, almost
same rendertime and better working creases. too bad the blog's video's are bad quality.

testing out some normal maps (chin, mouth, brows)

quick one hour audio test.
I'm missing some shapes for the face, but I wanted to check how this audio would fit the boy.

quick smile test

VERY quick and VERY dirty expressiontest, I think he looks too old because of some creases..
NOT THERE YET! :P
